The Proper Way to Hide or Delete Your Channel from YouTube

You Tube has been around for nearly twenty years. Moreover, if you’ve been a YouTuber from the beginning, you may have inadvertently hosted some embarrassing videos that you’d rather no one see.

Whatever the case may be, getting rid of a YouTube channel is a simple process. If you delete your YouTube channel, all of your uploaded videos, comments, playlists, and other data will also be removed. All of your information will be permanently destroyed after you cancel your account.

If you don’t want to permanently delete your channel, you may always just hide it, which will make your entire account invisible to everybody except you. Your previous posts and answers will be lost forever if you decide to make a private channel public again.

Following these steps, your YouTube channel will be permanently deleted or hidden from public view.

How to delete or hide your YouTube channel

There are a few different options for deleting or hiding your YouTube channel. Here are the steps for each:

Option 1: Hiding your channel

1. Sign in to YouTube on your computer.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen, then click “YouTube settings.”
3. On the left side of the page, click “Advanced.”
4. Under the “Privacy” section, you’ll see an option to “Make my channel private.” Click this option.
5. Click “Save” to confirm the change.

After you’ve made your channel private, only people who you’ve granted access to your channel will be able to view it. Your channel and its videos will not appear in search results or on your channel list.

Option 2: Deleting your channel

1. Sign in to YouTube on your computer.
2. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen, then click “YouTube settings.”
3. On the left side of the page, click “Advanced.”
4. Under the “Delete channel” section, click the “Delete my channel” button.
5. Enter your password to confirm the deletion.

Keep in mind that deleting your channel is permanent and cannot be undone. All of your videos, comments, and other information associated with your channel will be permanently deleted.

It’s also worth noting that if you delete your channel, you will also lose access to any other Google services associated with that account, such as Gmail and Google Drive.
